About Me

Who i am

Hello! My name is Yarelis Serrano and I am the girl behind the camera! I am so excited to meet you. I am a natural light wedding and portrait photographer located in Gainesville, FL.

I am married to my childhood sweetheart, who was my first boyfriend ever 😱 ( I won't say the age for parents out there!). I have two beautiful, and determined, daughters. My greatest happiness is to be their mommy.

I am an extremely picky eater (see next fun facts section for details). I am a type 8 Enneagram. I am an INFP (on the personality types).

I love adventure; a Zip Line sign me up! I enjoy traveling and doing all sorts of spontaneous things and want my girls to experience all of it!

I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Mental Health Counseling and have dedicated most of my life to it. I will try my hardest to separate counseling from photography, but let’s be honest, I might ask you about you emotions and validate your feelings 😂.

A couple of years ago I realized photography was truly therapeutic for me and it allowed me to connect to people as strongly as therapy does.

I have always found the greatest joy in watching the photographs my grandmother showed me from her youth, which truly inspired me. My goal is to bring that same joy to you and your family for years to come!

My approach

I specialize in outdoor portraits and weddings. I prefer candid photos but we can also plan on specific poses you want. I absolutely love golden hour and the warmth it brings to each photo.

I focus on capturing the emotions each client experiences. I fully embrace the environment to create those beautiful images.

Ok, i will start with the deepest, most intimate fact about me…I don’t like cheese! Your next question is probably: what about other types of cheese, there are soo many?! Nope, not any type of cheese; no cheesecake, take the cheese off the pizza type of dislike!

This is Bella, my first born! I always say she was born into this world and I knew what her personality was going to be like based on that very same day! She is the most determined, creative, and independent little kid. I remind myself these are all qualities I admire and will be thankful for in the future, but man is she stubborn!

This is Emma, my youngest (and last) baby, whom came into this world to complete it. She reminds me so much of her sister, and, yet she is so different. I am in awe of her strength and charisma. She has the same personality as her daddy! 🙄

Last but not least, this is Elio, my husband. He was surely meant to be a girl dad, and no, he does not want a boy 😂. We have been through many things together and I am thankful I have him to go through life with.
